The short version: Bonaregio does not set any cookies, and does not use Google Analytics or any other third-party tracking or advertising service. This page explains exactly what we do instead and why.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser to remember information across visits or requests, such as a login session or a preference.

Bonaregio does not use cookies

We don't set a single browser cookie — not for login, not for preferences, not for tracking. When you log in, your session token is stored in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie), and it is only ever sent by our own client-side code, directly to our own servers, when you use the site.

No third-party analytics or tracking

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, ad networks, session-replay tools, or any other third-party analytics or advertising service. No data about your visit is ever sent to a third party for tracking or advertising purposes.

Our own, cookie-free analytics

To understand how many people use Bonaregio and which pages are most useful, we run a small first-party analytics system that we built ourselves — entirely without cookies. For each page view, we record only the page path and an anonymous visitor identifier: a one-way cryptographic hash computed from your IP address, browser, and the current date, which changes every day and cannot be reversed back into your IP address or browser details. This lets us count "how many people visited today" without ever storing your IP address, without a cookie, and without being able to track you from one day to the next. This data is only ever used internally, by us, to understand overall site usage — never shared with or sold to anyone.

Why isn't there a cookie consent banner?

EU rules require consent before setting cookies or using similar tracking technologies that are not strictly necessary for the site to function. Since Bonaregio sets no cookies at all, and our analytics doesn't use cookies or any other on-device storage, there is nothing that requires your consent — so we don't show a banner asking for it.

Your browser's own settings

Even though we don't set cookies, your browser has its own settings to block or clear cookies and other site data for any website you visit, if you'd like to manage that generally.

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes — for example, if we introduce a feature that requires a cookie — we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first.
